Mr Taylor is an accredited Advanced Driving Examiner for the Institute of Advanced Motorists [IAM] covering the geographical area of Newcastle upon Tyne and Sunderland.
This is a role he has held since 2001. Mr Taylor conducts advanced driving assessments with individuals seeking member status on behalf of the IAM.
Mr Taylor has been instructed to carry out an overall assessment of the driving abilities and knowledge with members of the public and other Public / Professional bodies. At the conclusion of an Assessment Mr Taylor can provide a written critique with opinion in a format suitable for submission in Civil or Criminal proceedings
An assessment is often useful when an allegation of bad driving or poor knowledge of driving methods / Highway Code is alleged.
Mr Taylor is currently working with a Local Authority carrying out independent assessments of Taxi Drivers subject to proceedings under the provisions of the Miscellaneous Provisions Act 1976.
